Hi! I'm Ker and I'm a junior 3D modeler located in the Vancouver area who studied at Capilano University. Growing up with my mom and grandmother, I am grateful that they allowed me to express my artistic and creative abilities. My grandmother in particular taught me the fundamentals of sewing and knitting, which led me to venture out into different mediums such as sculpting with polymer clay, traditional drawing/painting, as well as creating my own plush patterns of my favourite Pokemon to sew as I got a little older. For as long as I can remember, I've always had a deep love for insects and I had a fascination for creatures of all kinds; particularly those who may look rather unsettling or mystical. Eventually, testing out new mediums led me to 3D. Although I've always been interested in digital 3D, I never thought I'd be able to learn it myself because it simply looked too complicated for me. However, as someone who loves to challenge themselves, I thought it would be a great learning experience to push myself and my artistic abilities even further.

Unsurprisingly, animals have always been an integral part of my life. I've had many different pets throughout the years from animals like hamsters, frogs, and fish, to invertebrates like tarantulas. My favourites, however, would have to be the garden snails I collected as a kid.  They were an invasive species and undoubtedly plentiful in my neighbourhood, more so after a quick spring shower. I vividly remember rushing out with my jacket half on, grabbing my half-broken scooter I left leaning against the garage door with my younger sibling not far behind chasing after me. I was too fixiated on the potential snails that may have crawled up onto the leaves of the bushes looking for water to notice that I had left my sibling behind. The jittery feeling of digging through my stash of leftover red envelopes hoping to find five dollars to purchase my ever-growing snail army a larger enclosure is a memory I'll forever cherish. Even now, a little more than a decade later, I can still recall all of their names.

In my free time, I spend a lot of time drawing and writing stories, sewing clothes or plushes, looking for art inspiration online, or playing games. Video games have always been important to me because, like many others my age, I spent a lot of time playing online games with friends in my childhood. Many of my most fond memories were of the wonderful friends I've met online, especially the ones we made while we explored new games and grew up together. It's amazing how a simple shared experience could bring so many people from different walks of life, backgrounds, and countries together. It's something that has always inspired me to keep creating; I think art is so important and allows for such realistic and raw human connections. It's interesting to see when my projects resonate with other people and it's always so amazing to work with other artists to create a piece of work that you'll be super proud of. Nowadays, I've spent less time outside than I wish I could, simply because I can't help but be glued to my seat starting new projects I'm excited to work on.
